LEADERSHIP VIEW

Mr. Mario L. Johnson assumed the position of Deputy Director of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) on 1 November 2020 after serving a tenure of thirty-five (35) years with the Royal Bahamas Police Force. During that time, he advanced to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police and was the Director of the Security and Intelligence Branch (SIB) up to his retirement.

He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 273) Quantico, Virginia, USA, where he successfully completed the FBI National Academy Leadership Course. He also earned diplomas in Academic Criminal Justice, Anti-Corruption and Model Law at the International Law-enforcement Academy (ILEA), New Mexico, USA. Attended a National Police Academy Director’s Seminar at ILEA El Salvador, Anti-Terrorism Assistance (ATA) Program, Management of Terrorist Investigation and Interdicting Terrorist Activity at Nassau, Bahamas.

He was awarded a certificate from the University of Virginia in Criminal Justice Education. His most recent educational experience was attendance of a Countering Transnational Organized Crime International Forum at the George C, Marshall European Center for Security Studies Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany in 2019.

Mr. Johnson is the recipient of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Meritorious Service, and Long Service and Good Conduct medals.
